Weekend Seminar @ Sierra Bible Church in Truckee, CA
You are invited to join Sierra Bible Church in learning God’s design for government as well as application of biblical principles to the Covid crisis. This is a Friday night/Saturday event.
Similar to the “Biblical Principles of Government” course, IPS President, Mike Winther, will first lay important foundations about the proper role of government. Although you won’t get the entire content of the full BPG class, you will receive some of it in a streamlined fashion. Mike will help differentiate between the three God-ordained governments and provide clarity to their respective spheres of authority.
From this starting point constructed, Mike will then make application of these foundational principles to the Covid crisis. This will help clarify what civil government’s response should and should not be toward sickness and infectious diseases. Mike will end with a Christian’s response to submission to authority and resistance to tyranny.
In conclusion, this weekend seminar will help you understand the biblical model for family, church, and civil government; the intersection between the three; and how each sphere is uniquely sovereign in its own capacity. The central question Mr. Winther will pose is: “What is the proper role of government?” Then make relevant application to today’s circumstances.
This is a FREE, two-day event with catered meals and childcare! To sign up, contact Tim Ruppert or Sierra Bible Church’s main office at (530) 587-6025. You can also email [email protected]. For an approximate schedule of the event, scroll down.

Mike WintherPresident
Michael R. Winther is the President and Founder of the Institute for Principle Studies (IPS). He sits on the Board of Scholars at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy and holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Idaho.
As a lifelong student of history and government, Mr. Winther feels a burden to teach the important principles of government and economics — principles that were known by many of our founding fathers, but unfortunately were forgotten a generation later.
