ARE YOU READY FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT?
The Civics Challenge is a one-of-a-kind fundraising event where teams match wits against other teams in an exciting evening of trivia and dessert.
At the event, you’ll celebrate and test your knowledge of what made America great. But you don't need to be an expert. This is a team activity interlocked in a fun, fast-paced, game-show atmosphere.
You can put together your own team to occupy a table of eight or, if you prefer, you can join a team with other participants. Either way, you and your team will be presented with a wide variety of multiple-choice questions on American government, history, economics, and the featured book.
Your team will collectively select answers, which will then be tabulated and added to your team’s score. Real-time results will be displayed showing how each team is doing in the standings.
You'll even have a chance to purchase clues that are up for auction to assist your team and give you an edge on the competition. In addition to the iconic traveling trophy, top teams compete for $1,800 in restaurant prizes.
Most importantly, by sponsoring or attending, you’re supporting the mission of IPS to teach others God’s design for government—all while laughing, learning, eating, and competing!
Featured Book
This year's Civics Challenge competition will feature several questions from ...The LawBy Frédéric Bastiat
The Law is Frédéric Bastiat's timeless defense of the free society. With his characteristically clear writing, Bastiat lays out the formula for the proper role of the state in a free society.
Nobel laureate F. A. Hayek called Bastiat a "publicist of genius." The great economist Ludwig von Mises saluted Bastiat’s immortal contributions. Best-selling economics journalist Henry Hazlitt marveled at Bastiat’s uncanny clairvoyance. Intellectual historian Murray N. Rothbard said Bastiat was "indeed a lucid and superb writer, whose brilliant and witty essays and fables to this day are remarkable and devastating demolitions of protectionism and of all forms of government subsidy and control."
