Mike talks about how we can be more discerning and … Read More
Transforming a Nation, Part 1: Understanding the Problem [Podcast]
LISTEN NOW This lecture is the first in a two-part series titled Transforming a Nation. It was delivered on March 20th, 2016, at Central Valley Presbyterian Church. If we do vote, who should we vote for? Does being a Christian automatically make you a Republican? Am I a weird Christian if I vote for a different party candidate? We have practical questions rolling around. We also have big picture questions like how does … Read More

In this lecture Mike Winther continues his lecture on why we need to be aggressive in beating down the gates. This is part four of a four-part series on fighting the Lord’s Battles. In Memory of Marshall Foster
We are sad to announce that on July 22, 2022, Dr. Marshall Foster, a dear friend of the Winthers and a member of the IPS Scholars Council, passed away. But we are comforted knowing he is in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My first introduction to Marshall Foster was in the late 90’s when I attended a conference where he was speaking. Unlike anyone else I have ever met, Marshall had a way of bringing the listener into the story of God’s plan of redemption. In broad historical brush strokes, he would help you see your … Read More

Fierce debate, large protests, and even acts and threats of violence quickly followed, highlighting America’s growing cultural and political division. With many self-proclaimed Christians on both sides of this issue, it is important that we – as principled followers of Christ – set aside our partisan allegiance and personal experiences and consider Dobbs on its Biblical and Constitutional merits. Biblical Merits The central question of the debate over the original Roe v Wade ruling and now the Dobbs v … Read More
Baby Formula Crisis – Economic Lessons
Oftentimes it is difficult to see the effects of government policy until a crisis reminds us just how much damage bad policy can inflict on our economy. A current illustration of this can be found in the current baby formula supply crisis in the United States. While there are factors outside of human control that have contributed (such as panic buying during the COVID scare and a recent bacterial infection at a production facility), government intervention in the marketplace greatly exacerbated the problem. The intervention came in the form of “price gouging” laws and protectionism. Let’s take a closer look … Read More
