We are sad to inform you that another influential leader in the liberty movement has entered his eternal rest. David J. Theroux (1949-2022) was the founder of the Independent Institute, an academic non-profit, public policy, research and educational organization. The Independent Institute’s mission is to boldly advance peaceful, prosperous, and free societies grounded in a commitment to human worth and dignity.

David Theroux and IPS Founder, Mike Winther, collaborated throughout the years to teach others. They had a mutual friendship and respect for each other. One of Mike’s fond phrases to compliment someone was “You’re a gentleman and a scholar”. We are sorry to say goodbye to another gentleman and scholar.
